#1 in Safety
Jobsite safety is measured with a computation called EMR (experience modification rating), a measure that compares a company's annual losses in insurance claims against its policy premiums over a three-year period, excluding the most current year.
Any company of significance is subject to this rating and companies whose claims are average for their industry group can expect an EMR of 1.0. Should claims rise above the industry average the EMR will jump above 1.0 and insurance premiums will rise accordingly. Conversely, a history of below-average claims will show up in an EMR below 1.0, translating to considerable savings in insurance costs.
The Maryl Group EMR of 0.65 is 35% below our industry average, which translates into a considerable cost savings for the firm’s workers compensation insurance. This speaks highly of our rigorous safety program. In short, Maryl has made safety a priority, and the results are extremely compelling.
